WATER CONSERVATION EDUCATION
American Standard’s Commitment to a Sustainable World
American Standard is strongly committed to water conservation efforts and is delighted to sponsor the Green Building Program, a unique K-12 curriculum that teaches students about sustainable building, ecology, and the environment.
Launched in partnership with the Green Education Foundation (GEF), this exciting program turns students’ own schools into teaching tools that demonstrate the attributes and benefits of green building. In addition, it provides opportunities that extend beyond learning, with the capacity to generate real cost savings for schools on their water usage.
Through American Standard’s $300,000 donation towards the Green Building Program, GEF will be able to develop a free, hands-on program of study that will teach kids practical water-saving strategies for use in school and at home. It also gives them the chance to put their newfound knowledge into practice by helping them improve environmental inefficiencies and reduce operating costs in their classrooms. For example, an average middle school uses 6,000 gallons of water per day just to flush toilets!
American Standard is pleased to join GEF in providing the educational resources necessary to ensure that students have the proper learning tools to be key stakeholders in shaping their future.
Both organizations understand that empowering K-12 students and their teachers with sustainability education is vital to a paradigm shift, to change our collective thinking.
We’re happy to help our future leaders create a new, sustainable world for all.
